Common Tax Prep Questions
Why should I hire a tax preparer vs. preparing taxes on my own?
The simplest reason to work with a professional is that most people do not know what they do not know! As an Enrolled Agent, the Internal Revenue Service requires that I attend a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education. Personally, I double that number of hours each year keeping abreast of tax laws and regulations.
Does NEOTAX Service offer tax amendment services?
Sometimes things happen and you must correct an error on a tax return that has already been filed. An Amended return may be the best solution. If it is, I can help.
What if I received an IRS Notice?
A notice from the IRS can be unsettling and the notices can also come from State and Local taxing authorities. When you receive a notice, the first thing to remember is that the IRS is not always right! I can review the notice and help determine how to respond in a way that will work in your best interest.
How much do tax preparation services cost?
Costs are what you incur when you deal with a poorly or incorrectly prepared tax form. Fees are what you pay for services designed to minimize tax liabilities and assistance in managing your taxes. My fees range from a couple of hundred to several thousand dollars. It all depends on your needs. Please call me to discuss your situation and I will be able to estimate what the fees could be.
What areas do you serve for tax prep services?
Most of my clients are in Northeast Ohio, including the Cleveland (Cuyahoga County), Akron (Summit County), and Medina and Lorain county areas. I can work with clients anywhere in the US, and currently have clients who live in New York, Maryland, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Colorado.
